More Rainy Day Tarot Play…

My favourite Tarot exercise: changing reality.

When you lay out your cards but don’t like what you see, why don’t you just change it? What is that? Cheating, you say?

I prefer to call it a manifestation exercise.

When you place your cards in front of you, what you are doing is laying out your thoughts, your energy, your mindset ~ right there, in a tangible, touchable, workable way. You can hold them, examine them, see what works for you and what doesn’t. You can shuffle them around, turn them the right way up, discard them and replace them.

Of course you can! They are YOUR thoughts and beliefs and misconceptions! And they are shaping your reality as it is.

What you send out, you will receive. So by laying out an alternate reality and focussing on that, you can will it in to existence.

My cards today were The 8 of Cups, 2 of Cups Reversed, and the Devil ~ showing me where I’ve been, where I am and where I’m going.

Seeing as I can’t change my past, nor would I want to, I just examined the card and the lessons contained within ~ understanding why I made the choices I did. But I didn’t like where I am right now, so I turned the 2 of Cups Upright ~ certainly didn’t like the look of where I am headed, so I won’t go there. I swapped The Devil for Temperance.

Now, I feel much happier with the situation as it is presented to me ~ so that’s where I am going to focus my thoughts and energy! I will no longer feed the state of mind that was leading me down the wrong path. If you don’t feed it, it starves… if you nourish it, it blossoms.

Your turn ~ what will you change?
